  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the incumbent to undergo a childcare background check due to regular contact with children/adolescents
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing
  • This position requires an annual seasonal influenza vaccination unless otherwise exempt.
  • This position requires you to complete a pre-employment physical and drug testing.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain the following: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP).
  • This position requires a valid stateside driver's license.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain an Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course (EVOC) certification and Fort Belvoir Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) license within 6 months of employment.
  • This position may require heavy lifting of objects or patients (over 45 pounds).
  • In this position, you may work under irregular working conditions, such as outdoors and in extreme temperatures/humidity.
  • This position may require shift work, nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call basis.
  • This position is considered Mission Essential and may require you to work during inclement weather or during other emergency situations.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and certification requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     Experience Requirement: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: responding to emergencies, providing emergency medical care, and transporting injured and ill patients. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service, GS-06.

    Certification Requirement (Selective Placement Factor): National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (NREMT-P) or a National Registry-Paramedic (NR-Paramedic) certification. (Note: You must attach a copy of your certification with your application package).

    • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
    • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
    • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
    • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
    • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

    • Salary includes applicable locality pay.
    • Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP).
