Oversees marketing strategy and reports daily on sales projections for upcoming productions, focused on Fortas, New Music, PAFE and Hip Hop.  Together with Marketing Managers, determines discounting and promotions for upcoming productions and manages relationship with brokers. Helps oversee strategy and distribution for third party sales streams. Cultivates active and mutually beneficial relationships with local organizations that will help spread news and promotions about events occurring at the Kennedy Center. Coordinates box office setups, discount creation, and email lists.

Duties and Responsibilities:

40%    Develops and implements marketing plans for Fortas, New Music, PAFE, and Hip-Hop Programs (this permeates every responsibility)

15%    Pull lists for direct mail, voicemail, email, and telemarketing using extractions

15%    Set up discounts (internal and external), in collaboration with the box office, IT, and marketing

10%    Work proactively to know in advance which events will require additional marketing support and begin planning targeted affinity campaigns; research affinity contacts and conduct outreach via emails, phone calls, mailings, etc to further maximize revenue for Kennedy Center productions

5%      Organize Box Office setups for Fortas, New Music, Hip-Hop, PAFE

5%      Report on promotion results for upcoming and historical performances

5%      Supports Director of Marketing to manage marketing budgets and revenue projections for for Fortas, New Music, Hip-Hop, and PAFE

5%      Develop and execute relationship marketing programs among underserved audiences in support of lesser known programs

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required; must have at least two years professional experience in sales, marketing or performing arts management.

Minimum Skills and/or Knowledge Required:

Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment.  In addition, the incumbent must possess strong selling skills and have the ability to produce effective oral and written communications. He/she must also possess advance capabilities with standard personal computing programs and a basic knowledge of Tessitura.
