Job Description: Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is seeking a full time Clinical Exercise Specialist to join our Heart Arrhythmia Center team. This is a unique high level administrative position within the Device Clinic.

Position Highlights
  • Position works collaboratively with Device Specialists, EP Nurse Navigators, and the Arrhythmia Center Team Coordinator to help ensure patients with cardiac devices receive appropriate care and follow-up
  • Includes (but not limited to) supporting remote device monitoring
    • scanning for alerts
    • downloading transmissions
    • patient instruction
    • troubleshooting
    • maintaining communication with patients concerning their remote monitoring
  • Compiling patient history in preparation for inpatient and outpatient device checks
  • Scheduling patients and follow-up to missed appointments
  • Assisting and maintaining data accuracy and integrity

Under the direction and guidance of a licensed clinician, provides quality exercise and health education for patients assuring a safe, pleasant, and professional atmosphere. Administers therapy treatments under the direct supervision of therapists/providers. Provides age appropriate education for Client/participants and caregivers.

Education Level
Bachelor's Level Degree - EXERCISE SCIENCE OR
Bachelor's Level Degree - KINESIOLOGY OR
Bachelor's Level Degree - PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or Physical Education with a concentration in exercise science required.
