Mason Talent Temporary Position Pool - Senior Executive Assistant/Scheduler

The George Mason University Mason Talent Program is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to serve as a part-time, temporary, Senior Executive Assistant/Scheduler. Responsibilities:

  • Acknowledge and prioritize requests, and schedule and manage the calendar for a high-level, high-demand individual;
  • Intercept and interpret requests for appointments, and prioritize and recognize what needs the executive’s personal attention;
  • Make travel arrangements, accommodation reservations, and outside appointments as necessary;
  • Take on special interest projects on an as needed basis;
  • Prepare and edit correspondence;
  • Act as a confidential assistant to the executive in all personnel matters and maintain the highest degree of discretion, sensitivity and objectivity at all times;
  • Act as a conduit of information, data and feedback between different offices across the university;
  • Proactively anticipate how events and initiatives will coincide and impact the office;
  • Assist with special projects; and
  • Will provide senior-level administrative support for special initiatives for the office.


Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated significant experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced office;
  • Demonstrated significant experience with executive calendar management;
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks accurately under pressure;
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently;
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communications skills including the ability to work effectively with, and relate well to, staff and external constituents at all levels of the university;
  • Extensive experience in executive administrative support; and
  • Experience with collaboration and communication with diverse individuals with differing needs.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Higher education experience or public workforce;
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; and
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience highly preferred.
