This can be a 2/3 GA position OR two 1/3 GA positions (depending on applicant pool and applicants’ schedules).

Marymount graduate students who have been accepted and will be enrolled for at least 6 graduate credits during the fall 2018 and spring 2019 semesters, are invited to apply for a part-time (1/3 or 2/3) graduate assistantship position in the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) working with the Director of Faculty Development, Teaching, and Instructional Design.

A total of 105 service hours for a 1/3 GA position or a total of 210 service hours for a 2/3 GA position each semester is required. The position begins the week before the start of the fall semester and continues through the end of the spring semester. A 1/3 GA works 7 hours per week (14 hours per week if a 2/3 GA) during each 15 week semester.

The CTL serves the entire Marymount community. These positions focus primarily on academic faculty support. GAs will assist faculty with using educational technologies in their courses (e.g., Canvas, podcasts, Google Drive, SMART boards).

A 1/3 GA receives a waiver of 3 graduate credits each semester of the assistantship; a 2/3 GA receives a waiver of 6 graduate credits each semester. Interviews for the positions begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.

Minimum Qualifications

- Accepted into Marymount as a graduate student
–Enrolled (or will be enrolled) in at least 6 credits each semester of the assistantship
– Knowledgeable in computer software packages including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Canvas, and educational technologies
– Ability to work at all Marymount academic locations

Preferred Qualifications

– Academic record and community/professional service will be considered in decision-making
– Prior tutoring, teaching, training, or coaching experience
