Medical Education Specialist
The American Society of Hematology (ASH), a Washington, DC-based association of physicians and scientists committed to promoting blood disease research and education, seeks a motivated, detail-oriented Education Specialist to support the Society’s educational activities by identifying and executing tactics to assess the long-term impacts of ASH CME activities and to ensure compliance with other aspects of ACCME accreditation criteria and best practices in continuing medical education; developing and executing initiatives to advance the ASH education roadmap and other priorities, some of which are supported by independent medical education grants; and contributing to the planning and execution of the educational program of the ASH annual meeting.
A bachelor’s degree in business management or other related field is required. The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience including (1) experience in supporting or executing the continuing medical education activities of a medical society or health care organization and (2) the development of new educational programs and product. This role also requires excellent oral and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, strong customer service orientation, and a strong ability to manage confidential information. Prior experience in a nonprofit environment is preferred.
