Marketing and Communications Manager
The American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET), a non-profit scientific organization, seeks an individual to develop and manage the organization’s communications efforts to build awareness and engagement for ASPET with key constituents. Duties will include, but are not limited to, managing ASPET’s social media platforms, managing the production of the quarterly magazine and monthly email newsletter, coordinating email marketing efforts, implementing and supporting a new online community, and other marketing projects.
The ideal candidate should have experience developing, managing, and implementing effective online and electronic marketing communications as well as experience in managing the production and editorial process of a news magazine and/or newsletter. Candidates must also have expert knowledge of social media, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other forms of social media. This position will work closely with the Director of Marketing on the implementation of a new organizational online community. Knowledge of developing and managing an online community within an association or society is preferred.
Candidates must have at least 5+ years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, preferably in the non-profit sector and/or a medical/scientific association. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, organization skills, and must be able to work in a team environment. Working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and MS Office Suite is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
