The PA provides program and administrative support to the Field Operations and Exchange Programs departments. In this capacity, the PA will serve as a key link between AMIDEAST field offices and headquarters. S/he will conduct research on technical areas and activities in education, professional skills training, English language training, and institutional development initiatives in the MENA region.The PA will design and develop documentation and management tools and templates to support standardization of field operations. This position will also require coordination with independent contractors and will provide administrative support on exchange programs directed at students, youth, trainees, and interns as needed.

 

Responsibilities:
• Conduct research on AMIDEAST’s presence countries in areas such as demographics, economic trends, GDP, GNI, consumer prices, and political developments and policies
• Write assigned sections of proposals such as organizational capabilities, staffing, and consultant resumes
• Research and prepare associated briefings about, conferences and education and training events in the US and in the MENA region 
• Develop and implement a system for monitoring utilization of field office facilities – especially meeting and training room and computer labs 
• Prepare presentations for the VP of Field Operations as well as provide backstopping support while the VP is traveling
• Prepare reports on political, social, and economic issues and develop meeting schedules for field office staff visits to headquarters
• Provide database organization, record keeping, backstopping correspondence and research, clerical and logistical support for exchange sponsored student programs  
• Manage and reconcile all independent contractor time and expense reports
• Recruit consultants for specific projects and initiatives
• Performing other tasks as may be required 

Qualifications:   • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field 
• 1-3 years of experience in international development 
• Solid  research skills, strong attention to detail, and exemplary organizational skills
• An ability to complete tasks independently
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Willingness to travel overseas
