The OT, PT, Adaptive Physical Education Department works collaboratively to promote full participation and engagement in daily routines, classroom activities, community outings, and recreation and leisure pursuits for all students. The department strives to facilitate healthy interactions, developmental and academic growth, personal success and well–being in order to lead independent and fulfilling lives as productive members of their communities. Our staff focus on the individual student’s needs by providing interventions and/or learning experiences with appropriate accommodations and modifications that assist and support our students’ performance in the least restrictive environments.  

Summary: The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing physical therapy assessment, treatment, and documentation according to each student's Individual Education Plan.


  • Perform job duties in a manner that maintains the safety of students and staff
  • Deliver services in accordance with the IEP and as outlined by IDEA and COMAR regulations
  • Develop treatment plans reflective of evidence-based practices
  • Administer assessments for programming and IEP development
  • Complete appropriate documentation in timely manner
  • Attend weekly staffing/IEP team meetings


  • Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the state of Maryland
  • Board Certification as an Physical Therapist
  • Knowledge of current trends in delivery of school-based physical therapy services
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or related disorders
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and time management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work as a collaborative team member
  • Computer skills related to common office tasks such as email, conducting internet searches, and using MSOffice (e.g., MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working in a school-based setting preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with assistive technology preferred
