Welcome to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital:

As the region's first Magnet hospital, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a 525-bed tertiary care facility, is home to the area's only Level I Trauma Center, burn trauma unit and nationally ranked heart program at Sentara Heart Hospital. In addition to a first-rate heart program, the hospital is home to Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and several dedicated facilities and specialized services including a nationally ranked ENT program supported by the skilled physicians at EVMS Medical Group.

This is a full time, days position; rotating call required with 45 minute response time.

About Our Unit:

We are currently seeking experienced PACU nurses for our fast paced, busy 35 bed PACU. This unit recovers all types of critical patients and post-surgical patients. The unit is staffed 24 hours a day Monday-Thursday. Friday-Sunday there is call for the staff which is rotated according to the weekend/holiday staff assignments. Call is required and there is a 45 minute response time.

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Required: Nursing - Previous experience

Other
18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty. BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
