  • QUALIFICATIONS: GS-15: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service) obtained in either the private or public sector: *Designing enterprise cybersecurity detection, protection and response capabilities based upon next generation cybersecurity best practice that covers on-premise and cloud based assets and data, as well as demonstrated mastery and skill applying advanced IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to accomplish assignments such as: Developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of IT services throughout a large organization; Providing expert technical advice, guidance, and analysis to management on critical IT services; Managing IT staff or contractors; Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of information security regulations, standards, policies, requirements and guidelines, including but not limited to the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) standards and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines; Technical knowledge of or experience with cloud computing security solutions; and Possession of one of the following certifications:

    o Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
    o Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA)
    o Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

    Your experience MUST also demonstrate each of the following competencies attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

    1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
    2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
    3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
    4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

    Note: A well-qualified applicant will possess a deep substantive background in information technology, including a wide variety of modern technologies and best practices such as agile software development, dev-sec-ops and cloud computing; demonstrated successful private or public sector experience in delivering technology solutions across multiple subject matter areas such as architecture, cyber-security, and data management; and proven leadership capabilities and experience working collaboratively with stakeholders across an organization. A deep understanding of traditional 'defense-in-depth' information security models, as well as, intelligence infused cybersecurity models that enable risk management.
