Enrollment Management Data Assistant
The George Mason University Office of the Provost seeks qualified candidates for a part-time Data Assistant for the Office for Enrollment Management. Responsibilities: The Enrollment Management Data Assistant will be expected to extract data from the universityâ€™s enrollment databases, generate reports from MicroStrategy, manipulate data in MS Excel spreadsheets, and review data and reports for accuracy and consistency. Other duties may be assigned by the team. Some examples of specific tasks are:
- Running weekly operational enrollment reports and reviewing content for anomalies;
- Extracting data from various university data sources on a weekly basis;
- Exporting data from various sources into Excel, creating additional metrics using formulas, and summarizing the data in charts and pivot tables;
- Running an existing â€˜productionâ€™ version of a report and a newly developed â€˜testâ€™ version of a report, scrutinizing the results from the two report versions, identifying any discrepancies, documenting the discrepancies, and communicating those discrepancies accurately and completely; and
- Assisting with scheduling MicroStrategy training sessions and preparing training materials for those sessions.
Required Qualifications: A qualified candidate will be well organized, have strong quantitative and critical reasoning skills, exceptional attention to detail, and extensive MS Word and Excel experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MicroStrategy and with the Ellucian Banner system are desirable competencies, but are not required as training will be provided in these tools.
