Job Description: The Director of Corporate Strategy and Planning plays an integral role in identifying, analyzing, developing and monitoring Sentara's Strategic Initiatives. Under the guidance of the VP of Strategy they will lead and facilitate multidisciplinary teams to achieve the overall corporation initiatives in this space. This may include System Wide, Regional or Service line Strategies, COPN applications, and Community Health Needs Assessments.

The Director will also assist with partnering with Executives in the formulation of recommendations, scenario modeling, identification of tactics and their relevant KPI's.

The Director is accountable for the maintenance of departmental strategy and planning templates, applications, and data sources. This includes the methodology and oversight for all platforms the department will produce.

The Director will coordinate and mentor staff within the department, helping cultivate the skills required to deliver key services. This includes skill set assessment, development of individual and team skills and career planning.

Other
Master¿s Degree in business, healthcare administration or public health is required, with at least 8 years of leadership experience in strategic planning or business development. Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, market assessment, product development, advanced statistical and financial analysis and information systems used to collect and manage market information required. Ability to think and work independently, yet function effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop individuals and to manage multi-division and/or division virtual teams. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a matrix reporting relationship. Experience required in management and supervision/mentoring of employees, resources, and budgets. Strong communication skills and experience that would lend credibility to the individual and ensure support from external business entities, physicians, corporate executives, managers, employees and supporting departments to effectively implement the strategic vision.
