TEMP-TO-HIRE ASSISTANT PARALEGALS LOCATION: Washington, D.C. (metro-accessible) REGULAR SCHEDULED HOURS: Monday through Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. ***Must be flexible to work overtime as needed (anticipated 5-10 hours per week) D.C. immigration law firm seeks bright recent college graduates to join their team as Assistant Paralegals on a temp-to-hire basis. Duties will include drafting H1-B visas and administrative support tasks. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent research and communication skills in addition to strong college academics. Great introductory law firm opportunity! RESPONSIBILITIES: >Case data entry / continued data integrity maintenance >Filing and maintaining physical files as well as supporting documentation >Creating, editing, printing, and distributing materials >Opening and closing records / cases >Maintaining all records as requested by supervisor >General administrative duties, as needed >Scheduling client meetings (Team Interaction) >Meeting assigned deadlines; communicating case progress / status / issues to supervisor >Following up with clients for outstanding documentation >Maintaining client contact information >Updating and managing status reports >Assembling and filing cases, as needed >Learning procedural and processing requirements for various types of non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications (drafting and assembling) >Routine case monitoring (USCIS, DOL, NVC, etc.) REQUIREMENTS: >High attention to detail >Ability to multi-task >Strong organizational, writing, data entry, and technical skills >B.A. or B.S. degree with minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 >Flexibility to work overtime as needed Please submit resumes in Word format, a 3- to 5-page writing sample (research- or analysis-based content strongly preferred), and a final college transcript to sstrauss@mylegale.com.
