HRIS Payroll Lead
Due to the ever increasing growth of The Agora Companies, 14 West, the business services arm, is currently searching for an HRIS Payroll Lead to join its HR team. The HRIS Payroll Lead will be responsible for managing and overseeing the payroll functions and associated processes and services within the Company's Human Resource Information System (UltiPro). The qualified candidate will have the privilege of leading a team of HRIS specialists in daily payroll related activities, as well as consulting and supporting employee interactions regarding payroll. The Agora Companies are comprised of more than 10 unique companies in Baltimore alone, which employ nearly 1,300 people. Reporting directly to the HR Director, you will be an integral part of a talented team of HR professionals. Responsibilities Manages all aspects of payroll to ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately on a bi-weekly basis for 1,200+ employees. Performs payroll audits including changes to job and salary, bonus and commission payouts, and voluntary/involuntary deductions. Ensures all payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policies, acceptable accounting principles, and federal, state, and IRS regulations. When necessary, determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income, social security taxes, employer's social security, unemployment, and workers' compensation payments. Oversees management of all leave balances to include Paid Time Off (PTO), holidays, as well as overtime payment for staff within UltiPro. Manages updates to payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in demographics, exemptions, savings deductions, job titles, and department/division transfers. Oversees on-boarding, orientation, and training related functions performed by the HRIS specialists. Ongoing Administration Serves as the Company's UltiPro payroll subject matter expert supporting the business and departments across the various Agora companies with ad hoc reporting and information, as well as providing customer service to staff around payroll related questions. Interprets company policies and government regulations that affect payroll to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Participates in special projects to include Open Enrollment, merit/bonus planning, HRIS integration activities, end-of-year audits, etc. Collaborates with Accounting on allocations and GL needs entered and derived from UltiPro. Ensures that department milestones/goals are met; adheres to approved budgets. Has working knowledge of HR and financial processes, policies, and technologies. Champions employee self-service solutions that quickly and easily satisfy information needs. Promotes automation to streamline payroll operations and reduce manual processes. Builds strong relationships with management and other stakeholders to promote the work of the HRIS payroll team. What We're Looking For Experience working in the operational support of a HR team is strongly desired. However, most critical to your success will be your experience with managing payroll and working with HRIS solutions, preferably UltiPro. You will be responsible for administering all payroll aspects of the platform that manages and supports our growing employee population. Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced understanding of HR processes and data. Proficiency and knowledge of HRIS software. UltiPro experience strongly desired. Comprehensive knowledge and experience with payroll and benefits administration. Strong knowledge of most payroll practices to include FLSA and Wage and Hour Law regulations. Multi-state processing experience preferred. Ability to work discreetly with confidential information. Provide excellent customer service and direction for timely and accurate payroll operations. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. A willingness and ability to drive continuous improvement. Advanced skills in MS suite [Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook]. Requirements Bachelor's Degree preferred (Accounting, Business, etc.). Experience managing payroll functions as well as with HRIS systems. Experience providing direct or indirect supervision to others.
