Description: We are seeking an Information SystemSecurity Officer (ISSO) for our Information Systems Division in Annapolis Junction, MD. JOB DESCRIPTION: The ISSO is responsible for maintaining and enforcing all information system security policies, standards and directives to ensure the certification & accreditation and certification of systems processing US Government sensitive information. Establish, document, implement and monitor the IS security Plan documents; Certification and Accreditation Package submittals to achieve and maintain Authority to Operate Ensure the development of facility procedures to govern marking, handling and controlling sensitive data Coordinate and execute self-inspections as well as Government scheduled inspections to ensure systems are operating securely Incident response investigation, handling and remediation related to malware, data spills, compromises, user security violations Communicate with Government Security Team (written/verbal) and attend on-site Government meetings, usually within 15 miles of Annapolis Junction, MD Communicate (written/verbal) with Program Team, Facility Security Office, System Administrators and end users Maintain software/hardware assess product risk; maintain product updates; IAVAs and customer approvals for technology use Provide configuration management Ensure the development, documentation and presentation of IS Security education, awareness and training for facility management, personnel and users Coordinate the facility IS Security Program with other facility security programs Confirm and document that users have appropriate clearance/access prior to establishing access or permissions Perform lifecycle disposal and sanitization of equipment under government regulations Protect and control all system data Perform daily system checks to respond to system alerts threats or issues in proper functions; (System monitoring, logging activities and actions, remediating issues, prioritizing tasks) REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent and 6 years' experience in the Information Assurance/Information Security field Experience with analysis and evaluation of both hardware and software in support of government regulations under Defense Security Services (DSS) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) 5 years' experience as an Information System Security Professional within the Department of Defense Experience implementing NISPOM Chapter 8, JAFAN 6/3, DCID 6/3, ICD 503, NIST 800-53, or JSIG Technical knowledge and ability to gain and retain DSS Self-certification Authority Experience with DISA STIGS (Security Technical Implementation Guide) and ODAA baseline configurations CISSP certification is required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Information Assurance/Information Security field a plus Experience with DoD Security hardening, collection and assessment tools (SCAP, WASSP, SECSCN, CASTS, XACTA, CornerBowl, Nessius, Splunk, nmap, McAfee ePo, Snort) Experience with security architectures, firewalls, network access and intrusion detection Strong organizational skills and ability to stay focused while managing multiple tasks concurrently Hands-on experience with Risk Managed Downloads, IS sanitization and destruction, PEDs, contaminations, incident response, virus scanning, privileged user access and hardware/software confirmation management Strong Windows background with some knowledge of UNIX/LINUX Possess knowledge of variety of computer software applications and hardware platforms, networking components and LAN/WAN architecture and protection Knowledge of COMSEC or the Risk Management Framework a plus Strong organizational skills and documentation Experience in managing personnel at multiple locations Technical experience in Systems Administration, Engineering, Networking or Development is a plus SECURITY CLEARANCE: This position requires the candidate to already possess an active TS/SCI security with Polygraph and to maintain the clearance.
