Description: We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Systems Engineer to join our team in Plata, MD at the NASA Blossom Point Remote Station (BPRS). The Site Engineer will be responsible for the Operations and Maintenance of the BPRS in support of Space Network (SN) Operations. Serves as the BPRS Technical Point of Contact with the SCNS SN Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering departments at the White Sands Complex (WSC) and Guam Remote Ground Terminal (GRGT). JOB DESCRIPTION: Interface with Space Network/WSC/GRGT, GSFC, Naval Research Lab/Blossom Point Tracking Facility, the Army Research Lab, and other onsite personnel to ensure properly coordinated activities. Interface with SCNS SN management at WSC, GRGT, and Greenbelt to identify best practices and develop common and consistent processes and procedures within the SN. Provide training to operations crew and direct the work of personnel, ensuring manning is available to support operations. Plan, schedule and oversee all maintenance, engineering change work, and software/firmware upgrades. Direct the troubleshooting of complex problems. Develops and submits proposed changes for site improvements. Reports on Operations performance, equipment status and status of work in progress. Coordinates procedure development, site testing and ensures that all equipment is properly maintained. Ensures BPRS Site Manager is kept apprised of all activities and issues. Ensures compliance with all SN policies, report requirements, and direction. Ensures compliance with all corporate initiatives and policies. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Science, Math, Engineering and 6+ years of relevant experience. 2 years' experience with RF satellite communications systems. Active Secret security clearance. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior Supervisory experience. Clear communication/presentation skills, technical/non-technical, written and oral. Demonstrate high level of personal, ethical conduct. Extensive knowledge of SN systems, operations and procedures is preferred. SECURITY CLEARANCE: This position requires the candidate to already have a current Secret clearance. Candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
