Description: We are seeking a Senior CloudInfrastructure Engineer in Woodbridge, Virginia to support our Department of Justice programs. JOB DESCRIPTION: Peraton is looking for a talented Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who shall provide technical leadership in the planning, investigation, design, and implementation of cloud based infrastructure systems and integration with traditional infrastructure. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer shall perform the following duties: Administer and maintain a high-performance, large-scale, hybrid (cloud/on-premise), and enterprise system. Implement new enhancements for new and existing web applications based on operational requirements. Evaluate service offerings from providers and make recommendations to the customer regarding integration of these technologies into the existing network Maintain and optimize the Linux based systems within a cloud-based environment. Provide best practice recommendations as it relates to virtualization, cloud, and networking. Scripting language development experience (Bash, PERL, Python, etc.) Identifying, documenting, and assisting in the automation of procedures and processes Track development and operational support provided via provided issue tracking software, such as JIRA/Confluence Collaborate on task reviews, internal processes, and architecture enhancements. Plan, schedule and conduct the deployment of new virtual private servers (VPS) and associated operating systems, and software applications. Provide comprehensible documentation and schematics to break-down, define, and illustrate complex infrastructure systems deployments and solutions. Develop and maintain change-base impact documentation Identify and recommend new design tools for use in new infrastructure projects Plan, design, and implement network management systems to monitor, diagnose, control, and measure performance of network assets Identify, analyze, and recommend new infrastructure administrative systems to ensure accurate systems inventory and timely implementation. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Security, Computer Security, and/or Network Administration from an accredited university/college with 10 years' experience 5+ years' experience supporting network infrastructure 5+ years' experience developing scripts and automating tasks with shell and scripting languages like Bash, Perl, and Python 2+ years' experience in implementing systems infrastructure and cloud solutions PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Enthusiastic, hardworking, self-motivated, and the ability to work independently Excellent communication skills in order to communicate effectively with all levels of management, staff, and customers Knowledge of Linux server configurations including web servers, proxies, VPN services. Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, and arrive at technical decisions Experience with enterprise application architectures in cloud environments Experience with the operation of enterprise and cloud infrastructures is a plus Passion for open source, tooling, software, and automation SECURITY CLEARANCE: This position requires the candidate to already have a current Top Secret with the ability to obtain an SCI and a Polygraph and to maintain the clearance.
