Description: We are seeking a Mid to Senior SoftwareEngineer for Chantilly, Virginia to support our Department of Justice programs. JOB DESCRIPTION: Peraton is looking for a mid to Senior Software Engineer to provide top-level technical expertise to perform the analysis, design and development of complex software systems, in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. The position is responsible for supporting cross-functional architectures in both hardware and software, providing quality assurance testing, and review and evaluation of new software products. Position also requires some technical knowledge and experience in reverse engineering, malware analysis, and embedded/mobile development. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree a minimum or 5+ years relevant professional experience, or a commensurate combination of education, training and experience Experience programming in C++ and/or Python Programming or scripting in high level languages following sound software engineering principles with minimal guidance or input. Ability to work independently, or as part of a team, depending on the needs to the situation or tasking, in a multi-contractor environment. Independently performing original research and security analysis related to cyber technologies and techniques. Understanding of and practical experience with various Internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SMTP, BGP). Experience with modern operating systems, including Windows, Linux and Mac. High level of understanding of host and network security issues at multiple protocol layers. Experience with network security devices such as Intrusion Detection Systems, Firewalls, Security Information Managers, Network Vulnerability Scanners Ability to function in a consultant role with some guidance from senior staff members, with regular interaction with the customer PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: CEH, CISSP, CISM, GIAC, OSCP Experience as a principle investigator for government researchAbility to work autonomously, self-starter SECURITY CLEARANCE: This position requires the candidate to already have a current Top Secret with the ability to obtain an SCI and Polygraph and to maintain that clearance.
