A successful track record in direct response copywriting and content strategy is an absolute must, as is experience in handling the demands and rapid iterations of a startup environment.The Content Strategist is responsible for maintaining voice continuity across all external communications, including our product (app and website) and marketing campaigns which include digital, social media, outdoor, TV, radio, print, and partnership marketing. The content strategist will also be in charge of creating and maintaining editorial calendars, content style guides, taxonomies, metadata frameworks. The position reports directly to the Design Director and is based in Upside's Washington, DC headquarters. ABOUT YOU You have 8-10 years of related copywriting and content strategy experience in print, digital marketing, radio, video, TV, outdoor, partnership marketing and direct mail. You are an experienced writer who has successfully demonstrated a strong ability to connect with consumers and generate response. You're passionate about collaboration and have experience working with cross functional teams You have a ton of initiative and want a "seat at the table" in bring our brand to life. You are an enthusiastic problem solver, who has a passion for creating original content and unique marketing offers through collaboration with a creative team of designers and marketers. You possess a proven ability to influence those around you with a clear vision for copywriting and dedication to excellence You always start with the customer in mind and understand the powerful role messaging can play in successful brand awareness and an engaging purchase experience You have excellent presentation and communication skills You possess an uncanny ability to translate business requirements into a creative strategy You have a hands on approach - no task too small, no deadline too tight, no customer too tough ABOUT THE GIG Create compelling and innovative narratives and campaign messaging across various channels to connect Upside to customers in collaboration with creative and marketing Be engaged with the latest digital trends to help inform creative approaches Possess a network of contacts in the design and creative industries Proven leadership in conceptual thinking, creativity and innovation; ability to influence others Use your stellar communication skills to work with teams in multiple locations and areas of our business Use your creativity, strategic vision and passion to help build our brand Oversee content requirements and create content strategy deliverables across a project life cycle. This can include conducting content audits (qualitative analyses of all the content on a network of sites and social media accounts) as well as gap analyses.
