Volkswagen of America is developing and implementing programs to increase dealerships' certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicle volume capacities, used sales profitability, unparalleled residual value performance and customer experience. The CPO Marketing and Operations Senior Specialist is part of the program development team, which is responsible for management and implementation of programs supporting our retail development. Role Summary This diverse role will rely on an individual that can combine elements of marketing, brand management, product development, and project management into an effective CPO marketing and operations strategy. The position requires a base knowledge of marketing concepts and campaign operations, as well as strong project management capabilities. In addition, the role will require coordination between other VW departments and vendor partners, so strong interpersonal skills will be vital to the candidate's success. Familiarity with dealership retail operations is an added plus. Role Responsibilities: * Maintain a multi-million dollar marketing budget to fund tailored Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) marketing and incentive programs. * Includes drafting RFPs, submitting requests to finance, and processing invoices for payment. * Coordinate RFP stand ups. * Create and manage the Volkswagen CPO Marketing Strategy to support sales volume expectations: * Lead the implementation of a CPO digital marketing program to drive consumer traffic to the vwcpo.com site. * Develop and maintain new point-of-sale, merchandising, and signage products for retail marketing activities. * Pilot new media channels, campaign optimizations, and vendor partners as the industry evolves. * Manage all VW dealer and field personnel communications related to CPO operations, including drafting the Senior Manager of Used Car Operation's monthly video broadcast. * Create presentations that convey a clear message of CPO marketing, operations, and sales performance. * Develop and support custom business applications, such as the VW CPO Resource Center and eCPO that improve used retail operations. * Maintain IT systems such as the Window Sticker Application and VCAS, as well as ensuring data feed integrations work soundly. * Project Management: * Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget; acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of internal stakeholders and vendors to deliver projects according to plan. * Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management; develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents, effectively communicate project expectations in a timely and clear fashion. * Work with vendor partners to ensure that deliverables are produced in a timely manner. * Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as Aftersales, VCI, and the New Car Marketing department, on cross-functional projects that increase revenues for dealers and VWoA. * Ensure the Reporting Analyst is creating value-add reporting and analysis of CPO and Used vehicle performance for the management team. * Act as a subject matter expert for the CPO team when working with other departments and vendor partners. * Travel periodically with regional sales office personnel to gain direct insights to the used vehicle market and VW dealer performance. Years of Experience: * 3- 6 years relevant experience Education-Required * Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, economics, communications, or related field Education-Required * MBA Skills: * Must be a self-starter and able to initiate independent action with minimal supervision. * Demonstrated strong project management skills and marketing experience. * Ability to manage key vendor relationships * Multitask multiple ongoing projects * Thrive in a team environment * Organize meetings and events * Communicate to executive management and members of the leaders of National Dealer Advisory Council Specialized Skills-Required * Experience managing marketing campaigns and content creation. * Ability to interpret digital advertising - paid search, social and display advertising - metrics and monitor media agency performance. * Above average ability with Excel. * Ability to assess situations, diagnose problems, structure an argument and create a compelling business case. * Able to take complex ideas and translate into to Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. * Experience managing multiple vendor relationships. * Ability to manage a department budget. * Basic understanding of inventory feed mechanisms and IT systems requirements. Specialized Skills-Desired * Strong understanding of automotive industry financing and reading financial statements. * Experience using Business Objects and SAP. * Ability to interpret dealer financial statements and identify investments and efficiency improvements to improve dealer profitability relating to used car operations. * Understanding of dealership operations. Work Flexibility: * Flexibility to travel often (one week per month) may be required. May require overnight travel to vendor offices and dealerships. #LI-VR1 SDL2017
