  • 1. In order to perform the duties of this position incumbent must be eligible for, receive, and retain a TOP SECRET/Single Scope Background Investigation (TS/SSBI) with access to SCI.
  • 2. Must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter, in accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • 3. Travel will be required (CONUS/OCONUS) less than 25% of the time.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     This is an interdisciplinary position which may be filled as a Security Administration Specialist, GG-0080-13 or an Intelligence Specialist, GG-0132-13.

    To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of progressively responsible experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

    To qualify for the Security Administration Specialist, GG-0080-13:
    Specialized experience is defined as: one year of progressively responsible experience equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) making protection determinations and advises on technical security problems. 2) Working with security concepts in 2 or more of the following areas: protection, foreign disclosure, industrial, and information security principles. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.

    To qualify for the Intelligence Specialist, GG-0132-13:
    Specialized experience is defined as: one year of progressively responsible experience equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) working with counterintelligence and intelligence principles, policies, procedures with a research and technology protection mission. 2) investigating and analyzing policy situations in and intelligence missions. Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

    Note: Creditable experience may include military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency so long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower grade in the series.

    • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
    • Direct Deposit of Pay is Required.
    • Must acquire and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with eligibility to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
    • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention & Control Program, the incumbent of this position must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
    • TDY Travel will be less than 25% of the work schedule for the performance of duty and training.

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
