Software Solutions Architect
Description: Leidos is looking for a Solutions Architect to oversee the transformation of its applications and moving applications. This position is in the Northern Virginia area and requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph in order to be considered. Architect will develop architectural guidance for applications developers, defining target platforms, interface designs, development patterns and styles. Architect will use Java and/or web applications to support the project. Architect will use their technical expertise in the formulation of software engineering practices, feasibility assessments of system plans and developing and implementing plans that adhere to established strategic, business, and system objectives. Qualifications: Mandatory Skills: - Typically requires Masters with 15 20 years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13 16 years of prior relevant experience. - Demonstrated experience architecting application systems consisting of JAVA or RoR web applications, web services, Enterprise security services, etc. - Demonstrated expertise in two or more of the following: Cloud Architecture, System Architecture, Networking, Systems Administration, Database, Application or Operating System concepts. - Demonstrated experience leading teams in the development of system prototypes in order to demonstrate proper application of design principles. - Demonstrated experience with design, evaluation, selection, and implementation of new large to enterprise-sized applications as well as supporting similar applications in a production environment. Desired Skills: - Demonstrated familiarity with various networks, systems and services. - Demonstrated experience in IT and/or cyber security architecture with a strong understanding of the objectives, defining requirements and architectural principles of cyber security. - Monitors industry trends and directions; develops and presents substantive technical recommendations to senior management. - Demonstrated ability to analyze, define and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, and network connectivity, other systems interfaces, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs. - Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, technically challenging area; ability to anticipate and manage changes or problems; assess impacts and recommend sound solutions.
