Description: Leidos has a career openings for Lead A&P Technician/Mechanics rotating CONUS/OCONUS. POSITION SUMMARY: The job of the Lead A&P Technician/Mechanic is to supervise aircraft maintenance as a working member ofthe team while maintaining aircraft in accordance with OEM specifications and FAA regulations. The selected candidates will initially work CONUS before deploying on 60 day rotations. The diversity of working conditions range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards exist. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to: Act as the Point of Contact (POC) for all site aircraft and GSE maintenance activities Supervise lower grade employees Submit daily, weekly or monthly reports as required Participate in teleconferences as needed Perform performance evaluations on lower grade employees Track and perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, repair and inspections on all aircraft systems Update maintenance tracking software/databases Perform shipping, receiving and issuing of aircraft material Turbine engine, propeller, airframe and flight control/landing gear or engine rigging Ability to troubleshoot systems to provide an effective solution Maintain FAA required records, manuals and inspection forms Daily/turnaround inspections Perform corrosion inspections and related treatment Washing/cleaning, servicing aircraft fuel/oil/hydraulic/oxygen/nitrogen systems Structural repairs and component in-house repair/back shop programs The Lead Aircraft Mechanic reports directly to the Fleet Manager or Director of Maintenance Work hours may be adjusted for operational requirements Qualifications: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of experience. Must be a US Citizen Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Current FAA A&P certificate required Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English Must have a current civilian driver's license Qualified applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years lead aircraft mechanic experience on King Air series aircraft Must have a basic understanding of integrated avionics Must have an in-depth knowledge of using aircraft technical publications with the ability to read and interpret basic schematic diagrams, drawings, and charts Must be able to work shifts as assigned and travel as required to support operations Must be in good physical condition, and capable of completing and passing a physical exam and CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) course prior to deployment OCONUS Must be able to work in the assigned work/living environment, work shift as assigned, 7 days a week, 12 hours a day to support mission requirements Experience using common or special hand tools and test equipment as required for aircraft maintenance Must have working knowledge of aircraft safety directives Must have an in-depth knowledge of aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards during flight line operations Must have proficient computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as maintenance database and tracking software Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim DOD secret government security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Active Secret security clearance Inspection Authorization (IA) is desired Recent Beechcraft King Air experience on civilian and/or military platforms including Pratt & Whitney PT6 turboprop experience is highly desired Rockwell/Collins ProLine 21 experience is a plus External Referral Eligible Leidos Overview: Leidos is a global science and technology solutions leader working to solve the world s toughest challenges in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets.
