    Basic Requirements: You must have a degree OR a combination of education and experience as follows:
    • Degree: Bachelor's degree that included 15 semester hours of statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours were in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc. (Submit transcript with your application)
    OR
    • Combination of education and experience: Courses as shown above AND appropriate experience that includes a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) sampling, (b) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, and (c) applying statistical techniques such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance.     AND

    Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience which is equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-13 level in the Federal Service that includes all of the following:
    • Developing statistical requirements for guiding the design of manpower information systems.
    • Consulting officials on statistical and quantitative management and information systems techniques.
    • Providing analysis of evidence-based human resources policy.
    • Effectively communicating analytical findings to target audiences.
    Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS14 level.

    You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Relocation expenses will not be paid. Current OPM employees may qualify as an exception.

    The full performance level of this position is GS-14.
