You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service conducting strategic planning and implementation of Executive Order 13548 with regards to the recruitment, hiring, and retention of individuals with disabilities, effective processing reasonable accommodation requests pursuant to Executive Order 13164 and 29 CFR 1630, and working knowledge of disability program requirements according to appropriate EEO laws, regulations, directives, and policies.
Selective Placement Factor: The candidate must have at least one year of experience researching, analyzing, and applying EEO laws and agency policies to address and advice on reasonable accommodation requests; providing advice and guidance to managers and supervisors on the processing of reasonable accommodation requests; preparing correspondence concerning employment opportunities for the disabled and responding to inquiries regarding building accessibility, reasonable accommodations/technical assistance raised in inquiries or requests.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
