    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The work involves moderate physical demands in terms of inspections, investigations, and surveys of facilities. This normally requires long periods of standing, walking, stooping, bending and climbing in all areas of land, improved and unimproved surfaces, structures, building interiors and exteriors. Work is also performed in an office setting and in conference rooms.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The work is normally performed in a well lighted, heated and ventilated spaces but may be in dark, damp or wet areas. Work often requires incumbent to visit construction sites and locations where damages have occurred and heavy demolition and repair work are being undertaken. There is a fair amount of discomfort associated with construction sites and incumbent must wear appropriate safety protection equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses and protective shoes.


    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.


    To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: applying engineering principles, methods and techniques in a variety of contract projects including mechanical, electrical and civil engineering; determining and accomplishing corrective actions for deficiencies and damages to facilities and other infrastructures. Apply analytical diagnostic techniques to resolve complex engineering and construction problems and issues. Inspecting completed contract projects to ensure quality results. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

    Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

    This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

    • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
