- Contract Formation and Administration - Knowledge of contract formation, solicitation, administration, and termination principles gained from practical experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) or Volume 14, Procurement, of the Guide to Judiciary Policy. (Experience with Volume 14 is preferred).
- Procurement Procedures and Policies - Knowledge of general Federal procurement procedures and ability to implement and administer internal procurement policies and procedures.
- Written and In-Person Communication - Recognize and use correct English grammar, punctuation, spelling; communicate information in a succinct and organized manner; and produce written information, which may include technical material such as solicitation documents, statements of work, etc. that is appropriate for the intended audience.
- Organization and Attention to Detail - Strong ability to organize numerous documents and files, and to ensure deadlines and due dates are complied with. A keen ability to pay attention to detail and to be accurate while working on multiple procurements/contracts with competing deadlines.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to performing contracting functions within a U.S. Court.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The course of study must have included or have been supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, marketing, quantitative methods, or management.
At least two years of experience in contracting or procurement positions. At least one year of that experience must have been specialized experience at or above the GS-11 grade level, and the position must have provided the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this position.
Hold a current Federal Acquisition Certification - Contracting (FAC-C) Level II or Level III or Department of Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification Level II or III, or the judiciary equivalent under the Guide to Judiciary Policy, Volume 14, COCP Levels 1 and 3.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
Superior oral and written communication skills and exceptional customer-service skills.

The U.S. Tax Court requires employees to adhere to a Code of Conduct.
Employees of the U.S. Tax Court serve under excepted appointments and are considered "AT WILL" employees. At will employees can be dismissed for any reason, without cause and without warning.
Employees will be required to complete a 52-week probationary period.
