  • The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct.
  • If you have not previously successfully completed a probationary period with the federal government in a similar position, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period.
  • Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).
  • Only experience obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
  • To meet basic requirements for this position, you must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as: Experience involved regularly performing duties such as: working with management to develop recruitment strategies for a variety of occupations and grades in both the competitive and excepted service; researching law and regulation relating to recruitment and staffing and recommending implementation; and presenting training and briefings on recruitment and staffing.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    There is no substitution of education for experience at this level.
