  • You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Government obtained either in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying experience include: Administering environmental protection programs in a biomedical research environment; advising and assisting an organization on applying environmental statutes, rules, regulations, and guidelines relating to environmental impacts and protecting the environment; conveying technical information on environmental issues to a variety of audiences in meetings, presentations or briefings; providing instruction and training to staff on compliance with environmental regulations.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
