Director of Operations, Private Pay Homecare
The Director of Operations is responsible for the day to day operations of the private duty registry and private duty agency. The responsibility also includes financial performance and budget for AHA/ACN, clinical performance oversight, billing and payroll oversight, quality management, customer service issues, participating in marketing strategies both new and existing, and generation of timely and relevant reports on an ongoing basis. This position is also a member of Adventist Home Cares Presidents Council. This position must also model and mentor the written values of the organization.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities including Direct Reports:
Models, mentors, and monitors the written organizational values (RISES).
Oversees daily operations to insure clinical and financial performance.
Ensures financial performance to meet and exceed budget.
Oversees patient experience outcomes.
Participates in obtaining new business and managing existing accounts.
Spends 30-50% of the time visiting hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities and physicians for business opportunities.
Oversees quality indicators and controls for regulatory compliance.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
Knowledge of Home Health industry
Ability to lead and manage clinical and non-clinical staff
Excellent management skills
Proficient in PC skills such as the Windows work environment, the internet, e-mail, etc.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and handle a multi task environment.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing
Ability to maintain excellent customer and employee engagement
Ability to navigate an Electronic Medical Record system
Excellent customer service skills on the telephone and face to face contact
Excellent organizational skills
Education and Experience Required:
Masters Degree in Health Care Administration or related field.
Five years of healthcare experience in Non-Acute services such as home health, nursing
Description of Working Conditions:
Atmosphere and environment associated with an office setting
Frequent pressure due to deadline requirements
Requires judgment that could affect image of the organization
Light physical effort (lift/carry up to 10 lbs.)
Occasional periods of sedentary work
Occasional walking, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching
Frequently works at PC involving focused concentration
Frequently required to communicate via telephone
