Certified Youth Peer Specialist
We seek an energetic and dedicated DC DBH Certified Youth Peer Specialist to join our Youth Blossom Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) team to work part time (20 hours per week) with adolescents and young adults ages 16-25 (and their families) who may be experiencing their first episode of severe mental illness.
The Youth Peer Specialist and team promote a culture in which the client's point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected. The Youth Peer Specialist will focus on engaging and educating teens ages 16 and young adults up to age 25, and their families, in mental health and employment services, and assist families in navigating referral resources. The YPS interact with youth/young adults as a peer, sharing common positive experiences that would be beneficial to their engagement in services.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalency, have successfully completed The DC Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) Peer Specialist training program for working with Youth, and hold DC DBH Peer Specialist (Youth) Certification.
