    GS-7: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level (in the Federal sector).

    Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

    Examples of specialized experience include: Resolve routine problems and conflicts with the staff and parents; Notifies parents when children are ill and/or contact proper medical authority; Assist Director in preparing annual operating budgets and request for new equipment and major projects; Prepare payroll and maintains record of leave and absences; Exercise responsibility in enforcing health, fire, and safety and facility program regulatory requirements; Orders supplies and equipment as needed for the CDC; In absence of the Lead Teacher, substitues in any classroom to provide oversight and leadership; Ensure policies and procedures are followed; Maintain child development records; Observes and reports significant individual and group behaviors of children to the director and parents.

    • Knowledge of child development norms, behaviors, growth, and progress necessary to accomplish assigned duties and responsibliities which promote a child's physical, social, emotional, creative, and intellectual growth and development.
    • Ability to independently plan and carry out assignment
    • Skill in communicating effectively and at appropriate levels with children, parents, staff and supervisor about a variety of subject matters relating to the early childhood field
    • Practical knowledge of local, state and agency regulations covering child development operations.
