    To qualify at the GS-5 grade level: Applicants must have 52 weeks of experience at the next lower grade level, GS-4, in the Federal Service.


    A four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree

    To qualify at the GS-7 grade level: Applicants must have 52 weeks of experience at the next lower grade level, GS-5, in the Federal Service.


    One full year of graduate level education


    A Combination of Education and Specialized Experience


    Superior Academic Achievement (SAA): Completed all the requirements for a bachelors degree in economics as shown in the "Basic Qualifications" section, AND SAA as evidenced by one of the following:

    1. Class standing - must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; or
    2. Grade-point average (GPA) - must have either a GPA of 2.95 or higher overall or a GPA of 3.45 or higher for courses completed in your major; or
    3. Membership in a national scholastic honor society.

    To qualify at the GS-9 grade level: Applicants must have 52 weeks of experience at least the next lower grade level, GS-7, in the Federal Service.


    A Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's degree.


    Combination of Education and Experience

    To qualify at the GS-11 grade level: Applicants must have 52 weeks of experience at least the next lower grade level, GS-9, in the Federal Service.


    A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
