Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-12: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level or above, in the Federal service.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience assisting in the development and renewal of information collections pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act, or experience assisting with collecting, analyzing and evaluating data relating to the development or application of rules and regulations.

CG-13: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 12 level or above, in the Federal service.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience developing and renewing information collections, pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act, or experience collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data relating to the Paperwork Reduction Act, and to the development and review of rules and regulations.

If you are found qualified, you will be placed in one of three categories: Best Qualified, Highly Qualified, or Qualified. Within these categories, candidates eligible for veterans' preference will receive selection priority over non-veterans.

  1. Skills in data collection methods including sampling, internal and external uses of collected information, alternative sources of information, and information management procedures and resource requirements for data collection and management.
  2. Knowledge of the Paper Reduction Act, Regulatory Flexibility Act, the Small Business Regulatory Enforcement Fairness Act, and the Administrative Procedure Act, and familiarity with other Federal statutes and regulations.
  3. Skill in the organization of work to produce numerous and diverse work products in a timely and accurate manner.
  4. Skill in written presentation.
You do not need to respond separately to these KSAs. Your answers to the online questionnaire and resume will serve as responses to the KSAs.
