    Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

    For the GS-11 grade level applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level.

    Specialized experience is grant management work which included the following: applying the mechanisms, policies and procedures of grants and other assistance awards; participating in post-award compliance monitoring, participating in close-out and auditing processing of grants; making recommendations on audit findings and close-out matters; advising the supervisor and staff on matters related to grant management and compliance, recommending corrective actions, as appropriate; supporting the development of monitoring and risk management strategies to ensure successful grant administration and program delivery; and participating in dispute resolution during the post-award phase of grants administration, including collecting data and termination of awards, audits, and de-obligation of funding. Experience in grant and award administration and termination, particularly as related to grant closeouts and post-award compliance is required.

    For the GS-12 grade level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level.

    Specialized experience is grant management work which included the following: applying the mechanisms, policies and procedures of grants and other assistance awards; conducting post-award compliance monitoring, close-out and auditing processing of grant programs; making recommendations on audit findings and close-out matters; serving as an advisor to the supervisor, management and staff on matters related to grant management and compliance, recommending corrective actions; supporting the development of monitoring and risk management strategies to ensure successful grant administration and program delivery; participating in dispute resolution during the post-award phase of grants administration, including collecting data, and contracting for technical reviews, and termination of awards, audits, and de-obligation of funding; and design and implement new policies and processes to ensure that all technical and grants administrative requirements are met, the technical work is completed satisfactorily, contractor performance appropriately documented, and records are in order. Experience in grant and award administration and termination, particularly as related to grant closeouts and post-award compliance is required.

    Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Applicants may also qualify for this position based on substitution of education for experience or a combination of education and specialized experience. Qualifying education for the GS-11 level is described below.

    GS-11: A Ph. D or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher level graduate studies leading to such a degree or LL.M, if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

    Stipulations of Employment:
