MDI Program Coordinator, Office of the Associate Dean - McCourt School of Public Policy

The McCourt School of Public Policy (MSPP) at Georgetown University is a top-ranked public policy school located in the center of the policy world in Washington, D.C. Our mission is to teach our students to help design, analyze, and implement smart policies and put them into practice in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, in the U.S. and around the world.

The MDI Program Coordinator assists MDI research faculty advance their research agenda by coordinating different interdisciplinary research events, workshops, promoting special events, managing summer programs for MDI students, and helping create online research stories for different projects. The MDI Program Coordinator has duties that include but are not limited to:

Administration

  • Coordinates research events, bag lunches, workshops.
  • Coordinates summer programs.
  • Coordinate speakers.
  • Provides administrative support for research collaborations.

Communications

  • Supporting research output through communication posts, web story creation and news blurbs (online and offline).
  • Managing WordPress sites.

Event Planning

  • Plans special events
  • Promotes special events

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in data Science, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing or a related discipline
  • 3 years of experience in data storytelling, data visualization, data communications, or a similar position
  • Preference for technical background such as a minor in Computer Science is a plus.
  • Experience with WordPress

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience planning and coordinating events and workshops
  • Knowledge of data science research
  • Program development experience
  • Administrative experience
