Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.

Job Summary:

Westat is seeking a student with applicable biostatistics experience to perform work at the Biostatistics and Data Management Core (BDMC) of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The duration of this position is 3 months, beginning June 4, 2018 and concluding August 31, 2018. You will be expected to work a maximum of 20 hours a week. Applications will be accepted through May 7, 2018.

Job Responsibilities:

· Assist with developing study designs, sample size and power calculations, and randomizations. · Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses. · Participate in statistical walk-in clinics and consultations to CHOP investigators and other research professionals. · Draft technical documentation for data analyses. · Summarize results using tables and graphs for presentation to investigators or for manuscript preparation. · Contribute to abstracts, presentations, reports, and manuscripts.

Basic Qualifications:

· A current Master's or PhD student enrolled in a biostatistics, statistics, or a related program of study. · A minimum 3.0 GPA

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with analytical, problem-solving, computational, and self-management skills· Working knowledge of SAS, Stata, and/or R
Students must have good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, be detailed oriented and able to work in a team environment. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
