Examples of specialized experience for this grade level include: leading efforts in functional development and improvement of human resources functions to include staffing, classification, employee benefits, awards and recognition, and performance management; conducting studies of HR programs, policies, and processes and recommending methods of streamlining processes to improve customer service; providing advice and consultation to management officials on sensitive, complex and/or controversial HR issues; and providing technical expertise in the development, assessment, monitoring and reporting of production metrics in support of agency goals and objectives.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
