Administrator, Customized Programs
The George Mason University, Global Education Office is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for the Administration of George Mason University customized study abroad programs. The administration of customized study abroad programs includes working closely with faculty on program logistics, communicating with students, faculty, departments and administrative units on campus as well as liaising with educational institutions abroad, travel vendors, and international organizations, and maintaining contact with appropriate administrative units on campus and in the department, such as the Customized Programs Manager, the Registration Specialist, HR Office of Financial Aid and establishing new ones as necessary.
In addition the Administrator manages student applications to programs, advising students; promoting and marketing programs in their portfolio and creating, maintaining and publishing program material. Maintaining relationships with faculty and academic units. Raising the profile of study abroad on and off campus, as well as giving procedural guidance/training to university constituents on study abroad practices are secondary responsibilities.
This position is responsible for a portfolio of study abroad programs led by George Mason faculty.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must have knowledge of international study abroad program administration. Have administrative experience in an institute of higher education and in student advisement, experiential education, field studies, international experience, marketing, cross cultural skills, ability to work with people of different cultures, computer skills, general accounting principles and be knowledgeable of different educational systems throughout the world. A BA in International Studies, Education or Foreign Language, or related field, or a combination of education and experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with experience with Masonâ€™s study abroad administrative software program TerraDotta.
