About the Opportunity Digital Management, Inc. (DMI), is seeking to hire an Accounting Manager to support corporate headquarters in Bethesda, MD. This position reports to the Commercial Controller with primary responsibility of assisting in the monthly financial statement close and associated reporting. The Accounting Manager will play an integral role in the accounting function within our Finance department. Responsibilities: Manages monthly closing process of multiple subsidiaries within corporate due dates including: Prepares accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports Reviews and posts general journal entries Ensure timely preparation and review of monthly account reconciliations Oversees intercompany activity and reconciliation Assesses revenue recognition for new contracts and ensures appropriate accounting treatment Supervises the Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant. Serves as point of contact for operations executives. Assist with accounting systems strategies and implementations and ensuring optimal systems environment for the finance functions. Assist in corporate development activities including due diligence, deal structure and negotiation, and integration of acquired entities. Supports various financial audits, bank audits, and IRS audits and manages the process in order to minimize financial statement adjustments and audit costs. Demonstrates support for corporate goals and objectives and actively participates in other corporate initiatives. Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports. Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA certification a plus. Must have at least 5 years of hands-on accounting managerial experience. Must have excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP). Must have Detlek CostPoint experience, version 7.0 or above preferred. IBM Cognos experience preferred. Skill Requirements: Is a team player and exhibits behavior consistent with the vision and values communicated by the corporation Strong general ledger, financial statement, and reporting experience. Responsive to the leadership of the corporation. Position requires critical thinking and analysis. Possesses a sense of urgency, works well in a team, and displays strong leadership skills.
