G&s Exclusive - Prestigious International Trade Practice Seeks Mid-Level Associate
Our client, a top-tier international law firm, has requested our assistance on an exclusive basis with the addition of a mid-level (minimum of 2-4 years' experience) trade associate to its expanding practice. In particular, our client seeks associates with experience in anti-dumping, countervailing duty, WTO, export control, sanctions and/or CIFIUS matters. Experience gained at USTR, Department of Commerce and OFAC is highly valued. The breadth of the Firm's practice includes trade policy projects, trade litigation and regulatory counseling. The Firm represents foreign governments and both domestic and international companies. Appealing aspects of this position: a) Substantive breadth - since the Firm has capabilities in virtually every area of trade, more experienced mid-levels may choose their area of focus while more junior mid-levels can elect to dabble in multiple subcomponents of trade law. b) Mentoring and professional development - every associate is assigned a mentor within the group. Associates create yearly developmental plans that the partners discuss collectively in an effort to accommodate associate preferences and assist in reaching associate goals. c) Well managed group/culture - partners (the majority of whom are home-grown) work collectively to manage associate workloads. The chair of the Firm has described this group and its approach to practice and people management as a firmwide model. d) History of promoting associates - this vibrant department with increasing work flow supports associate advancement and leadership opportunities. *Practice group is very proud that it has not lost an associate to another law firm in over a decade. This is a highly appealing opportunity for an associate who wants to take his/her practice to the “next level” and join a supportive, flexible working environment that offers long term growth potential.
