Substitute Relief Counselor / Non-Merit Benefits Eligible
Three positions available.
Excellent opportunity for entry level position with potential opportunities for advancement to work in residential programs for individuals with substance use and mental illness. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, provides supportive counseling, case coordination, observation and support to clients of the program. Hours vary and may include day, afternoons, evenings, awake overnights, weekends, and holidays. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be computer literate, and be comfortable working with adult clients who have substance use disorders or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders in a residential/intensive treatment setting. On your application be sure to indicate your potential availability for each of the various shifts: days, evenings, weekends, holidays and/or overnight shifts.
NOTE: This position may not exceed 1560 hours per calendar year. Individuals in this position are eligible for limited employee benefits (including medical, vision and dental insurance coverage) and participation in flexible spending programs, but not eligible to earn leave or receive holiday pay.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a human service field, or equivalent experience.
Experience working in a residential substance abuse or mental health residential program or inpatient unit. Certification as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC).
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, driving record check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, and a check with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) to the satisfaction of the employer.
