Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a billing coordinator for our corporate billing department to oversee the preparation of government, commercial and private foundation client invoices utilizing the Deltek Costpoint accounting system. The successful candidate may have opportunities for growth and broader responsibilities.


Job Responsibilities:

· Provide work leadership and mentor a team of billing associates to ensure all invoices meet client requirements for formatting, documentation, and content. · Resolve invoicing issues that arise due to unique billing requirements, project adjustments or system issues, including rate adjustments.  · Review unbilled accounts receivables on a monthly basis. · Complete project closeouts and other associated reconciliations. · Act as backup for projects with complex invoicing requirements.  · Interprets billing data, prepares and analyzes reports and may make recommendations. · Performs complex tasks providing general or specialized analyses in Accounts Receivable function. · Prepares specialized reports and analyses. · Develops or modifies major segments of an accounts receivable system including associated accounts, records, reports and controls. · Examines assigned accounts receivable documents to verify accuracy of computations and uniform application of policies, procedures, and acceptable accounting standards. · Applies specific professional-level functional knowledge to solve problems requiring the identification and analysis of moderately complex variables. · Takes action to solve issues that routinely arise in areas of assigned responsibility.

Basic Qualifications:

· High school degree or G.E.D. equivalent, plus 10 years of experience performing accounts receivable tasks in a government contracting environment is required.
Candidates must have extensive knowledge of Costpoint's accounts receivable and billing modules, as well as federal billing requirements for Cost Reimbursement, T&M and Firm Fixed Price type contracts.  Working knowledge of Costpoint's project module, including project setup. Familiarity with Costpoint's AP module and other accounting related experience. Proficiency using Microsoft Office products.   The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, possess strong organization skills and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
