CPF Underground Utilities is seeking applicants for a variety of roles, with experience in underground utility construction!
Laborer applicants should be experienced with shoveling, digging, handling and operating basic equipment such as a jumping tamper and walk behind roller. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs or more.
Truck drivers should be experienced with dump trucks, rollbacks, fuel trucks, stake bodies, and other similar construction trucks. Class A CDL is a plus. These applicants must also expect to assist the laborer role from time to time, and likewise would need to meet the laborer requirements above.
Gradesmen must have experience running a transit or level, finding and maintaining underground utility elevation and the elevation of a trench, accurately measuring distance run and layout of a trench, and have experience reading and recording engineering drawings for underground utility construction. Applicants can expect to assist the labor role from time to time, and would likewise need to fit the laborer requirements listed above.
Heavy Equipment Operators should have experience operating excavators, loaders, cranes, or similiar construction equipment. Strong candidates will have the skills and licenses to operate more than one kind of construction equipment. Operators will need to assist the labor role and will need to meet the requirements of the laborer role above.
Welders/Steamfitters should have experience working their trade outside, in cramped spaces in manholes or in an underground trench. Specifically, CPF LLC utilizes downhill welders. All applicants for this position must be able to pass a B31.1 weld examination, as we specialize in thermal distribution, steam, and chill water systems.
These are full-time, day positions, with some mandatory evening & weekend work. Weekly Hours can vary with weather conditions. Applicants must be dependable and available to work as needed. These openings are for the Washington, DC area; applicants must be willing to commute as necessary.
All jobs require that applicants:
- Communicate effectively with crew, foreman and project managers, providing concise instruction or information.
- Use effective listening skills.
- Have a valid U.S. Driver's License and his/her own reliable transportation to and from work.
- Take a post-hire drug screen, as CPF LLC is a drug-free workplace.
- Meet the minimum age requirement of 18.
Salary is dependent on the projects and positions, but typically range from:
Truck Drivers: $22-28/hour
Heavy Equipment Operators: $30-38/hour
