Chief of Security
We seek a hands-on, collaborative, and highly visible Chief of Security. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive slate of 24/7 security services utilizing both in-house and contract staff; unarmed and armed; in support of the protection of a high value collection, facilities, staff and visitors. You understand that your success stems from the quality and engagement of your people force supported by situationally appropriate technology, contemporary methods, efficient practices and responsible protocols. You will have an established track record of meeting your obligations to protect without diminishing the guest experience.
Competitive candidates will have formal education/training in security related practices and methods; 8-10 years’ progressive security supervisory experience, preferably in a museum, historic property, cultural, or hospitality setting; a proven record of managing in a diverse environment; a strategic thinker with strong organizational, interpersonal, planning, training, problem solving, and crisis management skills; a polished presence underpinned with excellent written and oral communication abilities; in-depth knowledge of integrated security/fire systems and related technologies. Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint and cloud-based timekeeping system.
