CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Position may or will require incumbent to: (1) Must be a United States Citizen (2) Must meet and maintain Air Force Reserve military requirements. (3) Preferred Military AFSCs: 2A051, 2A151, 2A351, 2A352, 2A553, 2E151 (4) Position may require a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and/or a security clearance. (5) Work uncommon tour of duty. (6) Maintain job proficiency by reading/reviewing new or revised technical orders or related publications and by completing applicable CDC, OJT, and FTD classes as required. (7) Some positions under this announcement may be designated as drug testing position where the incumbent may be subject to random testing. (8) Some positions under this announcement may be covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of such position. (9) Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities may be assigned. (10) Physical effort involves lifting components and equipment and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Items lifted generally weigh up to 40 pounds and occasionally objects weighing in excess of 40 pounds. Requires a high degree of manual dexterity, eye to hand coordination, prolonged standing, walking and normal color vision. (11) Work is performed inside in a shop environment and outside on the aircraft, subject to inclement weather. Mechanics are subject to injuries such as cuts and bruises and my be subject to danger form exposure to hazardous materials, high pressure air, high noise level, electrical shock, RF radiation and burns from soldering irons. (12) Some positions under this announcement may be controlled positions covered by the Personal Reliability Program (PRP). (13) Some positions covered by this announcement may be designated as drug testing positions where the incumbent may be subject to random drug testing. (14) Incentives and Special Pay may or may not apply. (15) Position may require travel.

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Individuals on active duty may apply 120 days before separation date and should indicate in their application their military separation date.
