Term Assistant Professor/Instructor, Geography
The George Mason University Department of Geography and Geoinformation Science (GGS) in the College of Science invites applications for a Term faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Instructor beginning August 2018. Responsibilities: The selected candidate will teach core and advanced courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and be part of the development and coordination of our distance education program. Typical instructional workload is four courses per semester and general service duties will be expected.
- A Ph.D. in geography, or a closely related field prior to the first date of the appointment is required for the rank of Term Assistant Professor or an M.S. in geography, or a closely related field is required for the rank of Instructor.
- Teaching experience at the college level;
- Experience with distance education course development and maintenance;
- Ability to teach human and physical geography courses;
- Ability to teach introduction to geoinformation systems; and/or
