The Motley Fool is looking for an Ad Sales Specialist to work with our team! The Motley Fools mission is to Help the World Invest, Better. The ad sales group helps advertisers reach “Fools”, a highly engaged and elite group of passionate customers who look to us for support and advice in all stages of their financial journey. This is an opportunity to sell for a world-class site and drive sales across multiple platforms to mid to large brand and performance advertisers. Working as an independent contractor (1099), you have an opportunity to grow and retain revenue from existing and new advertisers. Our Needs

Retain and grow from revenue from current existing advertisers. Build and use current rolodex to represent The Motley Fool to build relationships with both agencies and clients. Deliver highest level of sales and customer service to our clients.Respond to RFPs and RFIs (monthly, quarterly, yearly along with incremental opportunities)Work with account manager and trafficking coordinator to make sure campaigns are launched on time and stay on track to deliver in full.Regularly monitor viewability on placements and create reallocation plans to ensure we hit targeted spend.Work with internal stakeholders to create complex out of the box opportunities. Learn and regularly use partner tools to create opportunities and plansKRUX (to create behavioral targeting)MOAT (to monitor viewability)Google AnalyticsWhat We're Looking For In You

Experience selling digital or online media (desktop, mobile, tablet) native advertising, programmatic is a plus.Experience building media recommendations and sales presentations.A strong record of creating long term relationships at all levels within client groups and agencies - a strong record of meeting and exceeding sales quotas. Working knowledge of Dart for Publishers (DFP).Ability to build relationships with customers.Great verbal and written communication skillsDiplomacy and patienceAnalytical mindedAbility to work under pressure and meet targetsStrong presentation and negotiation skillsAttention to detail

Compensation:

Earning potential of $200k or more on an annualized run rate: $6250/month + 5% commission on incremental sales based on expected monthly deliverables including the following: Cold calling/emailing/in person touch points with 3 new clients a weekWeekly performance reports on how campaigns are runningMonthly go to market strategy - special seasonal promotions or packages to be reviewed and pitched. 2 live (video or in person) sales pitch meetings a month
