Senior Cash Receipts Specialist

Senior Cash Receipts Specialist will process cash receipts, prepare batches, apply payments, and will also perform accounting tasks such as bank and account reconciliations, and assist in enhancing current processes, recommending new ones, and work with others to bring efficiencies to system integration and incoming payment streams.


Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting or other business discipline.

Experience: 6+ years of experience in general accounting or accounting operations. Bachelor’s degree in business with 3 years of experience acceptable.

Required: Must be able to demonstrate understanding of accounting principles, to include bank and balance sheet account reconciliations, processing of cash receipts, internal controls, and the importance of data security. Strong leadership, time management, and communications skills. Must be detail oriented.


Senior Cash Receipts Specialist will support the Manager of Cash Receipts & AR, researching discrepancies and unidentified deposits; will prepare bank reconciliations and account reconciliations; implementing system enhancements; solve routine problems and make recommendations for process improvements. Daily decision making on prioritizing work load for check deposits, credit card payments, adjustments and batch processing. Ensure transactions are processed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Oversee general ledger postings and daily reconciliation of cash. Research and respond to inquiries and ensure the team is sufficiently knowledgeable to do so as well. Ensure the team meets month end close deadlines, as well as monthly reconciliations are complete. Ability to train and supervise personnel. Provide assistance/guidance, via oral and written communication, to upper management or other departments on cash related matters.

Other Duties as assigned:

Assists as needed with audit requests, creating or preparing reports, and other ad hoc requests.


Must have experience with accounting software. Excellent Excel skills are a must. High comfort level with new systems and integration.
